When God gave me the idea for this blog, I had no idea what to do with it. So I let it sit inside my brain for a while as I focused on other things. But He just kept bringing it back to my memory until I finally decided to bite. I sat down to start planning out how I was going to get this thing up and running, and my mind was just blank. I couldn’t come up with a name for the blog and I had no clue what the first entry should be about. All I really knew was that I was going to be sharing the things I’ve learned on my journey with Christ, my study notes to be exact. I also knew there wasn’t supposed to be a face to this blog, that Jesus was meant to get all glory from it. But… I still didn’t know what I was doing. So I just took a small step- I started creating a custom blog site using different online tutorials I’d found. And then I stopped once it was time to start dropping blog entries. I still didn’t have a blog name and I was only slightly assured that the first entry should be about obedience. That was a few weeks ago. Since then, I’ve had some ups and downs that have all helped me to grow closer to God. I’m typing this first entry, still not knowing what to name this blog, but feeling content in my obedience to at least start it.

Obedience to God and His Word determines the course of your life. It affects the state of your soul. If I’ve learned anything, it’s that obedience towards God often involves blindness-being forced to trust His direction even when you can’t see where or what it is leading you to. But it’s not easy. Human beings love control-something we can never truly have. It’s so easy to stall our obedience when our control fades and we experience a lack of understanding. This blog, among other things, has shown me that it’s okay to be uncertain or even confused at times. Just maintaining obedience in spite of those feelings-which will also fade- is all you have to do. And as I’m typing the close of this entry I can feel God’s presence in the room with me. “Righteous Are We.” Those who by faith, believe in the righteousness of God, are themselves made righteous. Romans 1: 16 &17. Evidence of that faith is in their obedience to His Word. Rely on the Holy Spirit He’s given you, don’t sweat the small stuff, and remember the God you serve.
